Marry Me?

so fellow bloggers, i've been telling you about my precious Landon for months now. actually as of saturday, it has been a year since we've been dating. and as of friday........

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

yay!! we've been talking about marriage for quite awhile now so i'm super excited that it's official now. i guess you all may want to hear to proposal story.

well, last year landon taught me how to ripstick. a ripstick is like a skateboard thing that twists in the middle so you can propel yourself with your back leg. it takes a great amount of balance, strength, skill and good looks. so on thursday i told Landon i wanted to go ride our ripsticks. we were going to go, but we ended up going to this meeting that lasted longer than expected. so on friday Landon said we should go. so he took me to the park that we love to ripstick at. we were riding on the following scene went something like this:

Landon watched the love of his life gracefully gliding on the bike path. Her hair fluttered in the wind, and he could smell the faint scent of her shampoo. He smiled, his heart accelerated in anticipation.
"Hey, Whit! Look at the grass right there, it looks so muddy!"
"Yeah, it does."
Landon knew that this time was as good as any to ask her to be his wife.
"Hey, hold on for a second."
Whitney stepped off her ripstick and turned around. She wondered if he really wanted to examine the muddy field more.
"Come over here." Landon motioned for her to come to him.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Well, I wrote this poem for our one year tomorrow, but I don't know if I will have time to read it tomorrow, so I want to read it now." Landon said.
He sat down on the grass face to face with Whitney. She laughed but wondered why he didn't think he would have time the next day to read it. She didn't question him though, because she had always wanted him to write for her.
Landon proceeded to read his poem to her about how wonderful their year had been together and how much he loved her. Whitney smiled as she watched the paper shaking in his hands. She understood how scary it can be to read poetry.
"...I want you forever in my life..." Landon read.
Immediately Whitney thought of what rhymed with "life" Wife!! It suddenly dawned on her that he wasn't reading a poem about their anniversary! He was proposing to her!
"So I am asking, 'will you be my wife?'" Landon pulled the ring out of his pocket.
Whitney grabbed the ring, pushed Landon down on the ground and kissed him. Which was her way of saying, "Hell yes!!"

The End.

romantic right? it was perfect. i didn't think he would surprise me because i've been expecting it for so long. but he did. :)

and then on saturday, he taught me how to snowboard. i've skied all my life. but i do wakeboard, surf, and of course, ripstick. so Landon thought that i would pick up on snowboarding relatively quickly. and i did. but i fell a lot too. but i think i want to permanently switch to snowboarding. i just feel better on a board than i do on skis. it's been a good weekend.

i'm getting married.
